Training FAQ

When will I receive details regarding the training venue?

Course and venue information will be sent upon registration via an email. It includes the venue address, dates, start and finish times, what to bring, prereading material and course inclusions.

Is there any pre-reading or studying to complete before the course?

Prereading will be sent upon registration. The pre-reading will vary from course to course but should not take longer than an hour for attendees to read. 

When will I receive my TOGAF exam voucher?

At the end of the training, you will be prepared to sit your certification exams. When you are ready, simply contact support to request your exam vouchers. Exam voucher requests are typically processed within 2 working days but please allow up to 5. You can then make appointments for your exams with Pearson VUE. The exam vouchers are valid for 12 months.

Where do I take the certification exam for TOGAF?

The exam vouchers we provide can be used at any Pearson VUE centre globally. There are centres in all major cities and you will have 12 months to take the exam at a location of your choosing. 

Can I take part 1 & part 2 of the TOGAF exam separately?

Yes. You will receive 2 exam vouchers, one for each part.

What happens if I fail the TOGAF exam?

A retake exam voucher can be arranged for failed exams. There is a small fee for the voucher and to process the request with The Open Group. We also need the score report from the failed exam to be able to request a retake voucher. The retake voucher cannot be used until 1 month after the first exam was taken.

I need to extend my TOGAF exam voucher, can EA Learning help me?

Unfortunately, at EA Learning, we don’t control the exam vouchers or expiry dates as they are governed by The Open Group and Pearson VUE. Generally, voucher expiration dates cannot be extended as they come with a 12 month validation period. In some circumstances, the Open Group can issue a 3 month extension to your voucher for an administrative fee. You can contact the Open Group via email,, to request an extension.

I need to cancel my registration or defer my training to a later date, is this possible?

Yes, if you advise EA Learning more than 4 weeks before the start of the course you will be able to cancel or defer your training. Up to 1 week, prior to the scheduled course date, you may nominate a substitute attendee; otherwise, cancellation will result in the forfeit of payments due. Do I need to have taken TOGAF training before I attend the Applied Business Architecture course?

No – the Applied Business Architecture course does not require TOGAF as a pre-requisite to attendance. The Applied Business Architecture course is aligned to TOGAF but does not require a detailed understanding of TOGAF from attendees. If you are going to attend both courses as part of your professional development plan, then we would recommend attending TOGAF first and then Applied Business Architecture.
