Career Summary

Galen is a Principal Consultant with an extensive background in enterprise architecture, technology architecture and strategy. He has delivered large-scale architecture outcomes for blue-chip organisations, consulting companies and vendors and has led consulting teams in the UK, Europe and Australia.
Galen has domain specialisations in identity, integration, telecommunications, software development and spatial systems, and can confidently engage at all levels of an organisation, for advisory, requirements, analysis and evaluation responsibilities. He has initiated enterprise architecture programmes for higher education institutions and delivered technology roadmaps for major corporations.

Training Credentials

Galen holds a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) from the Australian National University and achieved High Distinctions in all computer science subjects while enrolled in the Distinguished Scholar program. Galen is a certified TOGAF® 9 instructor and also instructs in Business Architecture.

Training Philosophy

Setting out to evolve a complex system is a fascinating and privileged endeavour. Frameworks provide useful tools to assist with understanding organisational systems and their evolution, but the answer to questions regarding correct application of frameworks is usually ‘it depends’. Theory is necessary; however vigorous questioning, examples and participant interaction provide the real learning. Attendees should emerge from training with renewed excitement about the discipline of enterprise architecture, and the desire to put their knowledge to work.
